Talkspirit offers the possibility for users who do not speak the same language to communicate.

This option can be activated by an administrator. Once the option activated, a Translate button will appear if the message language is not the one used on Talkspirit.

As a reminder, you can set up your platform in 8 different languages on Talkspirit:

  • French,

  • English,

  • Spanish,

  • German,

  • Italian,

  • Dutch,

  • Polish,

  • Portuguese.

To do so, go to the Profile and Preferences menu of the platform and select Language.

If an administrator has enabled this translation, then the user can translate:

  • the content of shared posts in another language than the one set on his platform,

  • the content of comments shared in another language than the one set on his platform.

Translate the content of a post

If the translation option has been activated by the administrator from the Administration, a button will appear on the post to translate the body of the text.

Simply select Translate to view the translated content. You can display the original version again by selecting Original.

NB: the translation option does not allow you to translate the titles of posts or the features associated with them (checklist, survey, visuals, etc.).

Translate the content of a comment

The translation button is also available from the comment fields.

Just select Translate to display the translated content. You can display the original version again by selecting Original.

NB: visuals associated with a comment will not be taken into account in the translation.

Who can translate contents?

All users of the platform can translate the content of posts and comments written in another language, if this option has been activated by an administrator of the platform. Otherwise, this option won't be available to any user of the platform.

Is it possible to translate content with the Essentials, Standard and Premium plans?

The translation option isn't available on the Essentials plan. You must have a paid Standard or Premium plan to activate this option.

Good to know

You don't need to be member of a group to generate the translation of its content.

By changing the language set on your platform, you can also modify the translation on the fly. All posts shared in a language other than the new language can be translated.
