New navigation: a clearer, more consistent, more modern experience

Starting on [Date], we are updating Talkspirit’s main navigation to make the experience simpler, more intuitive, and more consistent across the platform.

This new version introduces a top bar at the top of the screen and moves access to the user profile to the top right-hand corner.

The objective is straightforward: to help you find what you need more quickly, while also creating a stronger foundation for future product improvements.

What is changing

Before

In the previous navigation:

• access to the profile and certain preferences was located at the bottom left of the main navigation bar;
• some global actions were not as visible or as standardized as they can be today.

Now

In the new version:

• a top bar is now available across the application, including module-specific search;
• your profile is accessible from the top right-hand corner;
• global actions are grouped in a clearer and more consistent area;
• the navigation keeps your key reference points while making them easier to access.

Why this change

This update has been designed to improve the day-to-day experience without disrupting the way you work.

1. A more familiar interface

Positioning the profile in the top right-hand corner follows a widely adopted standard across modern business applications.

This makes the interface feel more natural to use, especially for new users.

2. Better separation between local navigation and global actions

The sidebar remains dedicated to your workspaces and content, while the top bar brings together cross-platform elements such as:

• notifications,
• profile access,
• preferences and settings.

This separation makes the interface easier to read and navigate.

3. Clearer access to your profile and preferences

Your profile picture in the top right-hand corner becomes the single entry point for:

• viewing your profile,
• managing your status,
• accessing your preferences,
• finding help options,
• accessing administration if you are authorized,
• signing out.

4. A stronger foundation for what comes next

This change allows us to build a more consistent navigation system across the entire Talkspirit suite.

It also makes it easier to introduce new global features in the future without overloading the left-hand navigation.

Where to find your usual actions

Access your profile

Click your avatar in the top right-hand corner.

From this menu, you can:

• open your profile,
• update your status,
• access Profile & Preferences,
• open Help,
• access Administration depending on your permissions,
• sign out.

Access search

Search remains immediately visible at the top of the interface.

Access your notifications

Notifications are grouped in the top right-hand corner, close to your profile.

What is not changing

This update mainly affects the visual organization of the navigation.

Your content, workspaces, permissions, and data are not being changed.

In particular:

• your news and spaces remain accessible;
• your access rights do not change;
• your working habits within the modules remain broadly the same;
• this update has no impact on the content of your platform.

Where can I find my preferences now?

They are now available from your avatar in the top right-hand corner, under Profile & Preferences.

Is the left-hand sidebar going away?

No.

It remains a central navigation element for accessing your spaces, modules, and content. The new addition is a global navigation layer at the top of the screen.

Does this change administration rights?

No.

Permissions remain exactly the same. Access to Administration still depends on your role and permissions.
