This article is for all members of the platform

Updated over a week ago

If you're a member of the platform, you can access all public and private groups from the groups directory.

As a member of the platform, you can access the content of all public groups. However, you'll have to request access to private groups.

Identify the groups available on the platform

To access all the groups in the platform, select the Groups menu from the left sidebar.

The groups directory shows all open, private and secret groups to which you have been invited. Click here to learn more about groups.

Join a public group

You can join a public group from:

  • the group directory,

  • the group itself.

Joining a group from the group directory

You can access the content of a public group even if you're not a member of this group. To do so, you just have to click on See to access its content.

However, only group members will be able to share posts within the group.

You can join the group from the group directory by clicking on Join.

Joining a public group from the group itself

If you try to publish in a public group you're not a member of, the message You must be a group member to participate appears and offers you to Join the group.

You can also Join a group from its banner by clicking on the corresponding button.

Request access to a private group

You can distinguish a private group from a public group by the lock icon in front its name.

You can only access the content of a private group if you've been allowed or invited to join the group. To join a group, select Request access.

You'll need to wait for the group administrator(s) to accept your request.

You can also cancel a request you made by selecting the Cancel Request option.

Note: you cannot access the content of a private group if your access request hasn't been accepted.

You can leave the group from its banner. You'll also be able to request access to the group from that same view.

Joining a group

When you join a group:

  • the group appears on the left side of your News Feed in alphabetical order,

  • the content of the group automatically appears on your News Feed,

You'll then appear as a member of the group in the group's information panel.

Who can join or request access to a group?

All members of the platform can join or request access to a group from the group directory.
